Police in northern Dalarna are reportedly increasing snowmobile controls during the Easter holiday period, according to SVT Nyheter. The police in Idre had wanted to conduct even more frequent checks along the trails this winter.
"We should have been out more times this winter," said Lena Nilsson, community police officer in Älvdalen.

On Wednesday, Tullverket (Swedish Customs), Länsstyrelsen (County Administrative Board), and police conducted several controls in Grövelsjön and Drevdagen. A total of 20 vehicles were checked, but no violations were found.
Josefin Olander, 16, who was recently stopped and has just obtained her off-road driving license, said: "It's good that they are out checking."

The Police Authority will reportedly be out in greater numbers during Easter to check drivers in both the Sälen and Idre areas. Lena Nilsson, who is stationed in Idre, believes they should have been out more this winter, but notes that staff shortages and other work tasks have interfered.
