Emergency services were called to a property on Juliet Close at around 1:30am on Sunday, police said. Officers discovered a couple in their 60s and two of their sons who had been attacked. A 65-year-old woman was found and given first aid, while a 64-year-old male was found alive with serious blunt force head injuries. A male was found deceased in a granny flat, believed to be the couple's 25-year-old son. A 30-year-old son contacted emergency services after being assaulted, was taken to hospital, and later discharged.

Police arrested a 32-year-old man approximately an hour after the initial emergency call. Campbelltown Commander Superintendent Grant Healey described a 'very bloody scene' and said blunt force trauma and edged weapons were involved. Investigators believe more than one weapon was used, including a bladed object and a blunt force weapon thought to be a hammer, according to major media.

Police first encountered a 65-year-old woman and started doing first aid on her... police went inside the house and found a 64-year-old male who was still alive with serious blunt force head injuries,

Neighbors described the family as reserved and keeping to themselves. One neighbor reported hearing sounds like a car chase around 1:30am, then saw emergency vehicles and a silver Subaru return to the street. The motive for the attack and the relationship between the arrested man and the victims remain unknown. The condition of the 64-year-old male and the 65-year-old woman has not been confirmed.

They found a male deceased in a granny flat at the rear of the premise.

Police were confronted with a very bloody scene. Blunt force trauma is always horrendous for people to confront, and any edged weapon attack is horrendous to confront.

It's still very early. We have a few things to run through.

This is a very tragic incident, there was no way for us to predict this type of thing was going to occur. This is an incredibly rare incident and it's incredibly tragic.
