A 55-year-old man from Piteå has been sentenced to two months in prison for aggravated drunk driving following an incident in Boden last November. According to local media reports, the man was so intoxicated that witnesses reported he had difficulty walking, yet he managed to stagger to his parked pickup truck and drive away along Road 97 on the evening of November 14. The journey ended when the vehicle went into a ditch.

Witnesses who observed the man's condition decided to follow him and alerted police, who responded to the scene. Police reportedly found the man had left the vehicle, but footprints in the snow led officers to a nearby house where he was located. 82 promille, nearly three times the legal limit for aggravated drunk driving in Sweden.
