SVT has previously reported about the threatened closure of Möjligheternas hus in Emmaboda. In response, Johanna Zetterberg, who works at Möjligheternas hus, started a petition in an attempt to save the facility. She explained the purpose of the petition, saying, "We did that to show the politicians how important this is for Emmaboda.
" The petition had almost 650 names and was submitted to the municipal council on Monday evening. However, the petition was not taken up during the meeting. The municipal council's decision not to mention the petition made Johanna Zetterberg and others disappointed.
We did that to show the politicians how important this is for Emmaboda. And almost all customers here inside signed their names in the list.
" It remains unclear why the petition was not taken up during the municipal council meeting and what specific threats of closure Möjligheternas hus faces. The municipal council has not provided an official response regarding the petition.
They make us disappointed, we thought they would at least mention it.
