Andre, 53, has five children: Junior (20), Princess (18), Millie (12), Theo (9), and Belle (2). He was previously married to Katie Price and is now married to Emily MacDonagh. His parents were Jehovah's Witnesses and Greek, he said.
Andre initially repeated his parents' strict approach with Junior and Princess but has softened as he got older. He remains strict on manners, he said. His wife Emily worries about the children leaving home, according to Andre.
Princess has done the second series [of her show] and she's on the third. I want them to just go and spread their wings. I think they already are [eclipsing my success]. I love it. I love it! How nice is it that they've got the schedules? 'Oh you've got to be there at this time...' I'm still hungry for it, and that's why I'm still going but there will come a point when I just don't want to do it as much.
He was emotional seeing his children walk down the aisle at his wedding to Emily, whom he described as the most beautiful bride he'd ever seen. Princess has her own ITV2 reality series 'The Princess Diaries'. Junior has launched a music career and moved in with his girlfriend, while Princess has not yet left home.
Andre hopes to become a grandfather one day. Millie has his song 'Flava' on her playlist, and Theo's favourite artist is Michael Jackson. Andre maintains a bond with Katie Price's eldest son Harvey, to whom he was previously stepdad.
I'm just so happy, I'm always smiling. I'm gonna go on tour, the Legacy Tour, which we haven't announced. But the album, it comes out on the 10th. You can pre-order it now, so we're gonna see how that goes and then announce the tour.
He said he was a single dad for a time and was careful not to bring home different girlfriends in front of his children. The 'Legacy' album is set for release on April 10, and Andre has been making media appearances to build excitement. He shared that the album reflects his journey in music and life, and he is eager to perform the new songs live.
Andre also discussed how his children have influenced his music, with Millie enjoying his older tracks and Theo being a big Michael Jackson fan. He noted that Junior's own music career has been inspiring to watch, and he supports all his children's creative pursuits. Andre's family life remains a central part of his identity, and he often speaks about the joys and challenges of parenting a large family.
Gavin & Stacey star Joanna Page is one of the nicest people I've ever met. We did Cooking with the Stars together. I saw recently she'd said she worries about her children flying the nest one day. Although I totally get that, I try and look at it a slightly different way. I have the hope that one of our children may have children, and we'll do it all again, as grandparents! Yes, it's sad but I also love seeing them growing up. But Emily worries about this a lot as well. Junior's moved in with his girlfriend but Princess certainly hasn't flown the nest yet! She loves knowing she'll be cooked for - every afternoon I get the text asking what's for dinner!
He acknowledged that his strict upbringing shaped his early parenting but that he has learned to adapt and be more understanding as his children grow. Andre's bond with Harvey remains strong, and he values the time they spend together. He reflected on his past as a single father and how he prioritized his children's well-being during that period.
Looking ahead, Andre is focused on his music and family, hoping to create lasting memories with his loved ones.
It was really interesting to hear about how Hilary Duff's kids think she's cool, now she's launched a comeback with her world tour. Apparently they'd rather listen to her than current stars like Sabrina Carpenter! ALTHOUGH My kids have always known me FOR being on stage, I did happen to hear Millie's playlist recently. She had Flava on it, my number one hit in 1996! I was secretly buzzing although I was one of hundreds of people on the playlist, but at least I made the list, LOL! Theo's number one artist is Michael Jackson, good taste in music, I say!
Yeah, definitely. My parents were religious and very strict, so when Junior and Princess were born, I kind of repeated how they were. But time and my views changed - especially on things like Princess having a boyfriend. The thought of it made me feel terrible at first. You soften as you get older and you have more children. Who knows what I'll be like by the time Belle is a teenager!
When the day came, and people started arriving at the beautiful Orangery where the ceremony was to take place, we had a wonderful classical quartet playing while people found their seats.
I was pretty emotional seeing my kids walking down that aisle, but George was there with a reassuring squeeze of my shoulder as I tried to hold back the tears.
As a single dad, it was crucial to me that, when they were with me, as they are half the time, they didn't see me coming home with a string of different girlfriends.
Yeah, Junior is fuming as well. Do you get that?
The thing is, I have always said how strict my parents were, they were Jehovah's Witnesses, and they were Greek. I said all of the things my dad said to me to my kids. And then when they got to about 10, I was like, I don't agree with half of this stuff, not that mum and dad didn't do it out of love, it's so old-fashioned.
I'm so chilled, it's actually quite annoying for Emily. They are just kids. I am strict on manners, that is my one thing.
They are great, it's nice seeing them do what they want to do. I just said to them, 'do what you want to do, but just work hard at it, don't expect to just have it'.
