A person was taken to hospital after falling through the ice during an evening fishing competition on a lake between Boliden and Skellefteå in Sweden. The alarm came at 19:40 regarding a drowning incident at Lake Varuträsk. Ambulance and rescue services were dispatched to the location.
Initially, there were reports of two people falling through the ice, but it turned out to be one person, according to a rescue service alarm operator. When rescue personnel arrived at the scene, the person was already on land. The person was later transported by ambulance to hospital.
Currently, there is no information on the extent of injuries.
