A person at an LSS residence in Ängelholms municipality reportedly lay dead for four days in their apartment before staff discovered the body, according to reports from P4 Kristianstad. The municipality has filed a Lex Sarah report to the Inspection for Care and Social Services (Ivo) regarding the incident. According to the report, the person died after being alone in their residence for several days without contact with care staff.
The municipality states that care and follow-up of the individual failed and that the person's safety was not guaranteed. Ängelholms municipality has reported the incident to Ivo as a serious misconduct. The case highlights ongoing concerns about care quality at LSS residences across Sweden, with similar incidents reported in other municipalities in recent months.
