Patrick Muldoon died suddenly from a heart attack, his manager confirmed to Variety. According to his manager, Muldoon suffered a heart attack at his Beverly Hills home on Sunday morning. His sister Shana Muldoon-Zappa told TMZ that Muldoon went to take a shower and was found unconscious on the bathroom floor by his girlfriend. Paramedics were unable to revive him, multiple sources reported.
Denise Richards, who dated Muldoon from 1997 until 2000, posted a tribute on Instagram on Tuesday. According to multiple reports, Richards shared a clip of the last movie she and Muldoon did together, Dirty Hands, which was released just days after his death. In her post, Richards said they had planned to do press for the film the week of his death. "This is so hard for me to put into words," she wrote. "I am deeply heartbroken & devastated losing you. You were my best friend & my family." Richards described meeting Muldoon in their first acting class when she was 19 and he was 21. "And here we are. 36 years later. My whole adult life & I don't know it without you," she wrote. She called him "larger than life" and "the most underrated actor." Richards also referenced "this last year of pain & heartache" but did not elaborate. Muldoon had appeared on Richards' reality TV shows The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills and Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, according to multiple reports.

Tori Spelling also posted a tribute to Muldoon on Instagram, according to multiple reports. In her post, Spelling said they met on a blind date. "This post took me a couple days. I wasn't ready to write because then it felt real. And, this shouldn't be real," she wrote. Spelling recalled crushing on his character Austin from Days of Our Lives before meeting him. "What I met and ultimately fell in love w/ was not just a beautiful on the outside creature but the most beautiful soul," she said. She described him as "special and one of a kind" with a "raddest weird sense of humor." Spelling noted that they shared a love of Broncos, guitars, and Grease. She also mentioned falling in love with his sister Shana Muldoon-Zappa and his parents. "We went on to be good friends! Still laughing + always caring," she wrote. Muldoon is survived by his sister Shana Muldoon-Zappa and his girlfriend Miriam Rothbart, according to multiple reports.

He was so passionate about this movie & worked so hard on it. He was personally close to many involved.
We did our first movie together & I am so blessed & grateful I did his last movie with him.
