Easter candy sales expected to hit record high

According to a new forecast from the trade organization Svensk Handel, grocery retail is expected to generate around 9.5 billion kronor in turnover during Easter week. Households are projected to spend over 1.1 billion kronor more than during a normal week. The temporary reduction in food VAT on April 1 is predicted to give trade an extra boost, and neither a low economic cycle nor an uncertain global situation appear to dampen purchasing desire, according to Svensk Handel's forecast.
