An abandoned house in the Lund area of Skellefteå was completely destroyed by fire in the early hours of Monday morning, according to local reports. The fire alarm came at 00:52, prompting both rescue services and ambulance to respond to the scene.

Fire chief Jakob Norgren stated that when rescue services arrived, the house was already fully engulfed in flames. "It could not be saved," Norgren told SVT Västerbotten. He noted that initially, responders did not know the building was abandoned.

The property was reportedly an older villa that was scheduled for demolition. While there was no risk of the fire spreading to nearby houses, rescue services worked to prevent it from reaching outbuildings and other structures in the vicinity.

Rescue services completed their work at the scene around 3:20 AM and handed over to the property owner. According to police, there is no suspicion of criminal activity in connection with the fire.
