Östersunds FK has signed two academy players to senior contracts. The club announced on its official website that defender Elliot Caarls, 18, has signed a contract through 2026, and midfielder Arvid Holgén, 17, has signed a contract through the summer of 2027. According to the club's sporting director Stefan Lundin, both players have been in regular training with the first team throughout the winter and have performed very well.
Lundin described Holgén as a ball-secure central midfielder with very good game understanding and said he will be loaned out to get senior matches at a good level. He described Caarls as a physical center-back with very good character and leadership qualities, adding that Caarls will be a constant part of the first team and play matches with either the first team or the U19 team. Östersund finished in twelfth place in Superettan last year.
