Östersund is hosting a Rally-SM event again, under the name Flatout Sweden Rally. The last time the city hosted a Rally-SM event was in winter 2018. The event is one of six in the SM series and, along with Sandviken, one of the only ones held on winter road conditions.
The competitions began on Friday evening with a well-attended public stage through the motor stadium in Lungre. A total of seven special stages are being driven in the forests around Östersund, concluding at Frösö Park on Saturday afternoon, where prize distribution will also be held. Competition leader Sverker Jonsson said a small group worked hard to get an event again, and it feels great and is a bit of a fresh start for motorsport in the area.

He noted that there are very few participants from the county, making it extra important to host an SM event here, as he believes it can help increase interest, convinced that motor interest and young talents exist in the county but that competing at this level is a big and expensive step.
