Vasaloppet winner Oskar Kardin broke his pole immediately at the start of the Ski Classics race in Norway's Birkebeinerrennet. According to SVT expert Anders Blomquist, it was a nightmare start. Kardin tried to get a new pole and catch up with the other skiers, but encountered a patrol.
Blomquist noted that Kardin was careful to identify himself.
