Oskar Blomgren has signed a new contract with the Malmö Redhawks, extending his stay with the SHL club. The contract reportedly runs through the 2028-29 season. Sportchef Oscar Alsenfelt stated that it was obvious to find a longer solution with Blomgren, who has progressed through the organization and shown he can handle the SHL.
Blomgren said it feels wonderful to get continued trust in Malmö and that it was an easy decision to sign. He reportedly competed out Daniel Marmenlind to share goaltending duties with Marek Langhamer this season. The Redhawks are set to face Djurgården in an eighth-final series of the SM playoffs, with the first match scheduled for Tuesday evening at Hovet in Stockholm.
