Örebro Hockey is changing its head coach, with Martin Filander reportedly set to replace Niklas Eriksson. According to sources cited by Expressen, the club has agreed with Filander on personal terms to become the new head coach starting next season. Filander's contract with his previous club, Biel-Bienne, was terminated at the end of March, as stated on Biel's website.
Örebro recently made the playoffs but was eliminated by Luleå in the first round with a 2–1 series loss. The club aims to adjust its sporting direction in recruitment and playing style, having recently hired Tony Mårtensson as assistant sports director. It remains unclear whether Eriksson, who has a contract for next season, will stay in another role, but sources indicate he will not be head coach.
Separately, Örebro SK's academy has hired Robert Graa Holegård as a new P19 coach for 2026, with several academy players impressing the A-team coach Rikard Norling.
