The quantum system is deployed within a New York City data center operated by Digital Realty and leverages commercial quantum systems from Oxford Quantum Circuits. Access is delivered through Options' low-latency global infrastructure fabric, which connects more than 70 data centers worldwide. Danny Moore, President and CEO of Options Technology, said quantum computing is no longer theoretical for capital markets, but is becoming a practical tool for specific, high-value problems.
The launch coincides with a leadership expansion at the company. Patrick Collins has been promoted to Vice President of Platform Security, according to multiple reports. Collins joined Options as a graduate in 2017 and progressed to a cyber security engineer before serving as Director of Threat and Vulnerability Management for three years.
Moore said Collins' nearly 10 years at Options gives him unique insight into the organization's growth and evolving security threats, especially with AI. Collins said working with the security team over the past nine years has been a fantastic experience, and he is excited about opportunities in his new role. Options Technology marked the 10-year anniversary of its Graduate and Placement Programme on October 14, 2025.
Since 2015, the programme has directly recruited over 270 students, 98% of whom remain with the company today. Over 70 students began their careers at Options on placement, with more than 65% advancing into senior management and leadership positions. The programme has helped propel Options' global headcount to over 650 employees worldwide.
Over 40% of all new hires in the past 12 months came from graduates and placement students. Options has expanded recruitment to include engineering apprentices for school leavers and strengthened partnerships with Queen's University Belfast, Ulster University, Cambridge University, and Belfast Metropolitan College. The programme has won accolades including 'Best Employee Development Programme' at the 2022 Irish News Workplace and Employment Awards and 'IT Team of the Year' at the 2023 Belfast Telegraph IT Awards.
The company has also strengthened its executive leadership team with several key appointments. Bob Coletti has been appointed as Sales Director, Strategic Accounts, bringing experience spanning senior commercial roles across the financial technology ecosystem. Moore said Coletti brings a level of industry insight and client stewardship that is invaluable to strategic accounts.
Coletti said Options has established itself as a trusted partner for firms that rely on world-class infrastructure and market data every single day. Other recent appointments include James Hardcastle as VP, Head of APAC Sales; Marlena Efstratopoulou as CISO; Scott Feagans as SVP, Sales Engineering; and Noam Siegel as Vice President of Sales. Efstratopoulou's journey with Options began in October 2021 following the acquisition of the Fixnetix division from DXC, where she served as CSO.
Her role as CISO reflects Options' strategic shift towards a risk-driven security approach. Options Technology was established in New York City in 1993 by a group of financial technology experts aiming to provide advanced IT solutions to the financial industry. The initial focus was on serving hedge funds, providing technological infrastructure.
The company quickly expanded into major financial hubs globally and is privately held and backed by private equity firms. In 2019, Abry Partners invested significantly in Options Technology. The acquisition of Activ Financial occurred in October 2021.
In October 2024, Vitruvian Partners acquired control from Abry Partners.
