Onsala Pirates have been promoted to the Swedish women's basketball league, Svenska Basketligan, for the upcoming season. The team reportedly won the southern division of the first-tier league, securing their place in the top division. This promotion means Brahe Basket will remain in the league, as the league is reportedly being reduced from 13 to 12 teams.
Brahe Basket finished 11th in the league this season, with Visby and RIG Luleå below them, and had faced relegation risk. According to reports, Brahe Basket's coach Francisco Pinto is likely to stay on, and the club is beginning to build its squad for next season. Anna Golob, a key player for Onsala Pirates, has previously played in the league for other teams, but it is unclear if she will continue with the promoted side.
