According to official sources, the incident occurred in August 2024 when the woman brandished a toy gun and an axe, leading police to fire at her leg. The woman, who has one leg, was struck in that limb. Växjö District Court convicted her of both aggravated unlawful threats and threats against an official, sentencing her to protective supervision and treatment measures from the probation service.

She must also pay damages totaling 40,000 kronor to two people. The police officer who fired the shot was prosecuted for misconduct but was acquitted by Växjö District Court; that acquittal has been appealed to the Court of Appeal. The investigation against the woman was previously dropped but was reopened after police requested a review.

According to SVT, the woman could not be reached for comment.
