The new Ocean Harbor in Halmstad has been inaugurated, marking the first stage of the port's largest investment ever. Construction began in 2023, and this initial stage cost 230 million kronor. The final price tag is expected to exceed one billion kronor.
According to Hallands Hamnar, transport to and from the quay will become more efficient, with direct connections to the motorway and new railway tracks. Hallands Hamnar is owned jointly by the municipalities of Halmstad and Varberg. The company operates port, terminal, and transport services in Halmstad and Varberg, with the ports among Sweden's ten largest.
