A nuclear accident drill called Havsörn was held in Uppsala County, Sweden. The exercise, which concluded on the day of the report, simulated a nuclear accident at the Forsmark nuclear power plant. In the final phase, rescue services used vehicles with radiation measurement equipment to map radioactive waste and report results to a field station in Gimo.
The drill involved multiple actors including rescue services, the Radiation Safety Authority, the Swedish Armed Forces, and the County Administrative Board. Havsörn is a large-scale nuclear exercise conducted every six years under the leadership of the County Administrative Board in Uppsala County and consisted of three phases.
