  • Funds aim to maintain cinema service in Finnmark
  • Sigurd Rafaelsen praises proposal as support for rural cultural services

Sigurd Rafaelsen, a Storting representative and leader of Finnmark Labour Party, praised the proposal, saying it shows the government wants to prioritize rural districts. According to NRK Troms og Finnmark, Rafaelsen described Bygdekinoen as an important cultural service that reaches people across the entire county, noting that for many in Finnmark it is the only opportunity to watch films on a big screen. He emphasized the importance of equal cultural services across the country and stated this is a concrete example of the government following up on its ambition to strengthen cultural services nationwide.

Film projectionist Lasse Antonsen shows films across all of Finnmark, and on Tuesday evening, Kvalsund was the location for a screening.
