Nora kommun has decided to donate two older reserve power generators to Ukraine, according to local reports. The generators, which have been owned by the municipality since the early 1990s, no longer meet current requirements for stable and secure power supply for municipal operations.
The decision was made by the municipal council, with the donation to be carried out through a suitable organization. Municipal councilor Dan Pierre (M) stated that while the generators have served their purpose locally, they can still make a difference where needs are greater.

According to SVT Örebro, the municipality assessed that upgrading the generators for local use would be too costly. Instead, Nora is investing in new, modern reserve power while letting the older generators be put to use where they are most needed. The move demonstrates solidarity with Ukraine during its ongoing conflict.
