Nick Reiner, the youngest of the couple's four children, appeared in a packed courtroom in Los Angeles on Monday wearing brown prison clothes and with a shaved head. " The parents were stabbed to death, according to prosecutors. Reiner was arrested in December last year just hours after the parents were found dead in their home and has been in custody since his arrest.
The trial against Reiner was supposed to take place in January but was postponed after his lawyer withdrew and requested to be replaced by a public defender. The motive for the alleged murders remains unclear. If convicted of the murders, Reiner risks life imprisonment without parole or the death penalty.
He is innocent of killing his parents.
