Netflix has officially revealed the launch date for the second series of Running Point, with the show returning on Thursday, 23rd April. Running Point is a sports comedy centering on Kate Hudson's character Isla Gordon, who becomes the first female president of the fictional NBA franchise the Los Angeles Waves. The show is loosely inspired by the real-life basketball legend Jeanie Buss, former owner of the LA Lakers.
The cast for the new season includes returning stars such as Scott MacArthur, Brenda Song, Chet Hanks, and Justin Theroux. New additions to the ensemble for season two include Ray Romano, Ken Marino, Tommy Dewey, Richa Moorjani, Jake Picking, Blake Anderson, Duby Maduegbunam, and Aliyah Turner. Behind the scenes, the show was co-created by Mindy Kaling.
With the head coach spot wide open, a heartbreaking late-season loss in the recent rearview, and Isla's most unstable brother back in the mix, the new season of Running Point promises to be another hilarious, compulsively watchable chapter.
Running Point became Netflix's top show during its inaugural week of release last February. A synopsis released by Tudum reveals that the new season will feature an open head coach spot, a heartbreaking late-season loss, and Isla's most unstable brother back in the mix.
