The Research Institute for Disabled Consumers found that 82% of disabled people identify missing accessibility information as the primary barrier to evaluating venues, and 79% find it difficult to assess accessibility beforehand. Disabled households have £446 billion in annual spending power, referred to as the 'Purple Pound'.

According to Euan's Guide, 70% of disabled visitors return to venues that deliver proper accessibility, and two-thirds of disabled visitors recommend accessible venues to others. Nationwide has committed to keep all 605 branches open until at least 2030.
