The Västmanland County Administrative Board is leading a national campaign for the tenth consecutive year aimed at addressing violence in young people's close relationships. The campaign, titled "Svartsjuka är inte romantiskt" (Jealousy is not romantic), focuses on warning signs in unhealthy relationships and seeks to reach both victims and perpetrators of relationship violence.
According to SVT Nyheter, the campaign is being conducted in cooperation with the Swedish Police Authority, the Equality Agency, and the foundation 1,000 Opportunities. Elin Bengts, development manager at the Västmanland County Administrative Board, stated that the goal is to break the stigma and encourage more people to seek support, both those who are subjected to violence and those who perpetrate it.

The campaign comes amid concerning statistics showing that 23 percent of girls aged 16-24 have experienced violence in close relationships at some point, according to the report. This year's theme specifically addresses warning signs in unhealthy relationships, marking a continued effort to raise awareness about domestic violence among Sweden's youth population.
