Natalie Ringler will take over as theatre chief and artistic leader of Västmanlands Teater in February 2027. She succeeds Niklas Hjulström, who is leaving the position after ten years. Ringler is educated in Kraków and at the Dramatiska Institutet in Stockholm and has worked as a director for 25 years, with a breakthrough in 2013.
The recruitment process started in spring 2025 and attracted 57 applicants. According to board chairman Jesper Brandberg, the theatre gains an experienced and attentive leader with a clear artistic direction. In a press release, Ringler says she looks forward to developing the operations and meeting the audience in the region.
