Phil Campbell, the guitarist for the hard rock band Motörhead, has died. He was 64 years old. The news of his death was announced by his children on social media.
They wrote that he died peacefully after a long and brave battle in intensive care following a complicated operation. Campbell was born in 1961 in Wales and played in Motörhead from 1984 until the death of frontman Lemmy Kilmister in 2015, when the band disbanded. From 1992, he played alongside Swedish drummer Mikkey Dee in the band.
