The Supersport 400 is priced at £135,558 after tax, targeting high earners in their 40s and 50s. Morgan aims to drive the brand into the modern era by competing with established rivals like Porsche. The standard Porsche 911 has 389bhp, 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds, and a top speed of 183mph, starting at £103,700.
The Supersport 400 is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight six petrol engine from BMW's M division. It claims to hit 62mph from a standstill in 3.6 seconds. Morgan's Dynamic Handling Pack is standard, including adjustable coilovers front and rear with new valving and spring rates. A limited-slip differential is an optional extra.
The Supersport 400 does not come with automatic lane-keeping, autonomous city braking, or speed limit warnings. It qualifies for legislative exemptions due to Morgan's sub-1,000-unit annual output, and the company is immune to net zero targets like the ZEV mandate and the ban on new petrol and diesel engine sales. Morgan employs around 200 staff and turns out 800 hand-made vehicles per year.
