Moose migration broadcast ends early in Sweden
Key Points
  • Cameras turned off tonight at 23:00, earlier than planned May 8
  • Moose have finished swimming, according to project manager
  • Season started five days early due to early moose arrival

According to multiple reports, the moose migration broadcast is ending earlier than planned. The cameras from the forests of Junsele will be turned off tonight at 23:00, instead of the original plan of May 8. Project manager Johan Erhag told Svenska Dagbladet that the moose have finished swimming, with only a lone moose appearing occasionally.

The start of this year's edition of 'Den stora älgvandringen' was moved forward by five days because the moose were early. It remains unclear why exactly the migration ended earlier than planned and how many moose were observed this year.

Now there's a lone moose every now and then, but not much more. It's over now.
