Swedish gaming giant Mojang is making a sequel to its popular Minecraft spinoff, Minecraft Dungeons, which will be released this year. The original game, Minecraft Dungeons, was released in 2020 and was the first action role-playing game launched within the Minecraft universe. It is a dungeon crawler where the controlled character is viewed from a top-down perspective, fighting through hordes of attacking enemies while exploring cave systems and other environments in search of better weapons and equipment, all in the characteristic blocky Minecraft aesthetic.
According to reports, Minecraft Dungeons II will allow up to four players to cooperate, and the title will come to Xbox, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and PC. Details about the sequel are reportedly sparse.
