Construction has started on upgrades at Mjällby AIF's home arena, Strandvallen, with the first groundbreaking taking place on Tuesday. The project, which includes building media rooms, changing rooms, and other facilities, is expected to be completed by 2027. Club CEO Jacob Lennartsson stated that these improvements are needed to meet the requirements of the Allsvenskan league.
The club is also in contact with another football club about the possibility of using their arena, as it remains uncertain whether European matches will be played at Strandvallen. Mjällby AIF has until March 30 to notify UEFA of their plans regarding European games.
