Mittuniversitetet is starting a new program at its campus in Östersund. The university has decided to develop a bachelor's program in criminology and psychology due to interest from students across Sweden. Currently, students must apply to Mittuniversitetet in Sundsvall to study criminology.

In the region, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service is investing in new operations, which Olausson sees as a significant part of the new program.
