Miljöpartiet's spokesperson Daniel Helldén has issued a stark ultimatum, warning that the party will vote against Magdalena Andersson as prime minister if their climate policy demands are not met. According to an interview in Svenska Dagbladet's Utfrågningen, Helldén stated: "Det skulle vara dumt att gå fram med det förslaget" (It would be foolish to proceed with that proposal).
Helldén criticized the Tidö government's environmental record, claiming that over nearly four years, they have "trasar sönder klimatpolitiken" (torn apart climate policy). He accused the government of "berått mod" (calculated courage) and "dagspopulism" (day-to-day populism) in their approach to environmental issues.

The Miljöpartiet spokesperson positioned his party as the only one with a clear and functional climate policy that can help Sweden meet its environmental challenges. The ultimatum represents a significant political maneuver ahead of potential government formation talks, with climate policy emerging as a potential deal-breaker for the Green Party's support.
Helldén also expressed confidence in Miljöpartiet's electoral prospects, predicting the party would achieve its best-ever election result of 7.4 percent.
