Mikael Gath has been appointed as the new head coach of the SHL club Timrå. The 49-year-old Swedish coach reportedly left his position as head coach of Denmark's men's national hockey team earlier in the day. According to reports, Gath has signed a two-year contract with Timrå, replacing Tommy Samuelsson.
In a statement on the club's website, Gath said he felt excited to take on a club team again after three years with the national team.
