Gath has been coaching Denmark for three years. During his tenure, Denmark reached the semifinals at the 2025 World Championship after a quarterfinal win over Canada and qualified for the 2026 Olympics. Gath previously coached in Kristianstad and Danish club Odense and served as an assistant coach for SHL team Rögle.
