Meira Omar has advanced to the final of Melodifestivalen from the finalkvalet, previously known as Andra chansen, in Malmö. She will compete with the song "Dooset daram". This marks the second consecutive year she has reached the final via the qualifier, having done so last year with "Hush hush".
According to reports, she expressed happiness about the result in an interview with SVT. The finalkvalet involves five entries that placed third in their respective rounds competing for the last two spots in the final. The voting process in the finalkvalet has reportedly been criticized, with some arguing that artists performing earlier in the same evening had an advantage two years ago.
Other participants in the finalkvalet include Jacqline with "Woman", Robin Bengtsson with "Honey honey", Eva Jumatate with "Selfish", and Alexa with "Tongue tied". Meira Omar gained fame in Sweden after appearing on the Netflix show "Love is Blind" in 2024.
