Meghan Trainor cancels nationwide tour, cites priorities
Key Points
  • Meghan Trainor canceled her nationwide Get In Girl Tour
  • Tour was scheduled for 32 dates from June to August
  • Trainor cited balancing album release, tour prep, and new baby as reasons

The tour was scheduled to begin on June 12 in Michigan and include 32 dates across North America, with a final concert on August 15 in Los Angeles. Trainor initially announced The Get In Girl Tour in November last year, and she announced the cancellation in a message on her Instagram stories on Thursday. In that message, she said canceling the tour is the right decision for her family and herself right now.

Trainor apologized to fans for the cancellation. She promised fans she plans to be back soon and can't wait for them to hear the new record. Trainor's seventh studio album Toy With Me is set to be released on April 24.

According to Daily Mail - Home, Trainor had previously described the tour as involving dance lessons, being fit, jumping, dancing, and being a party for everyone. She also told Daily Mail - Home that songs on her new album were inspired by comments on her appearance, and she recalled receiving hate on social media after attending the Billboard Women in Music Awards last year. It remains unclear how many children Trainor has, whether refunds will be provided for canceled tour tickets, or if any rescheduled dates or future tour plans have been announced.
