Medvinden ice rink in Badhusparken has closed for the winter due to the mild weather making the ice too fragile. The closure was announced by Vinterparken, with Tobias Karlsson, the site manager, stating it was safest to shut it down. The rest of Vinterparken remains open until April 1.
According to Joel Norgren, the ice rink has needed to close around this time for the past three years. Trafficverket also reported that the ice roads on Storsjön closed on Wednesday, making this year's ice road season only one and a half months long.
