The announcement was made during a Get Real event on Wednesday, according to multiple reports. The full lineup, including dance partners, will be revealed in the coming weeks. Higgins, known for her appearances on Love Island and The Traitors, will join returning hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, with Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli serving as judges.
Higgins rose to fame on Love Island in 2019 and has since appeared on Dancing on Ice, Cooking with the Stars, and I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2024. She was the social media presenter for Love Island USA and Love Island Games in 2023 and made it to the final of The Traitors US earlier this year. According to Daily Mail - Home, Higgins had previously expressed interest in joining the show, calling it a challenge she would embrace.
She went from looking for love to looking for who to trust, and now she's looking to win the Mirrorball. We're welcoming @maurahiggins to #DWTS on ABC, Disney+, and Hulu this fall! #HuluGetsReal.
Sources claim Higgins could be in line for a £5 million payday from new deals, including talks with Disney and a major US cosmetic brand for a seven-figure endorsement. A fly-on-the-wall series documenting her rise in America is also reportedly in discussions. However, these deals remain unconfirmed. Ciara Miller from Summer House is also set to appear on the show, according to reports.
I TINK IM VERY EXCITED!
Maybe [I'd do] Dancing With the Stars. It's something that'd be a challenge for me. I've never danced. I'd done a bit of Irish dancing when I was younger. It'd be a huge challenge, but I know I'd throw myself into it and all the looks and glitter.
