According to reports from Aftonbladet, approximately 5,500 people have been evacuated north of Honolulu, the state capital, due to the risk that a 120-year-old dam could breach. The severe weather has resulted in significant damage to buildings and infrastructure across the state, with preliminary estimates placing the damage at over $1 billion.
