A mass brawl erupted when the Brazilian football clubs Cruzeiro and Atletico Mineiro met on Sunday in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Cruzeiro won the match 1-0, becoming state champions of Minas Gerais for the first time since 2019. According to reports, the brawl started in the closing seconds when Atletico Mineiro's goalkeeper Everson kneed Cruzeiro midfielder Christian.
Security personnel and military police reportedly had to intervene. The referee later sent off a total of 23 players after the tumult. Atletico Mineiro's former national team striker Hulk, one of the players sent off, said it was regrettable.
