Marcus Ericsson finished ninth in the Alabama Grand Prix at Barber Motorsports Park on Sunday. He reportedly started eighth but faced difficulties early in the race, with his first set of tires wearing out quickly and his car becoming heavily understeering, causing him to lose several positions and make an early pit stop. Ericsson returned to the race and was as high as seventh at one point, but ended in ninth place after 90 laps on a track where overtaking is difficult.
Alex Palou won the race, with Christian Lundgaard finishing second after overtaking Graham Rahal with three laps left, and Felix Rosenqvist placed 13th. Ericsson has 99 points in the standings, 57 behind his teammate Kyle Kirkwood, and is tied for seventh overall with Scott McLaughlin. He has finished in the top ten three times in four races this season.
