Approximately 500,000 liters of livestock manure leaked from a collapsed manure pit in Rindal on Saturday afternoon, with the manure flowing toward the Surna river and Surnadalsfjorden. The mayor of Surnadal, Hugo Pedersen, said authorities are monitoring the situation, but it is too early to say what the environmental consequences will be. The cause of the pit collapse has not been determined, and the specific environmental impacts on the river and fjord remain unclear.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow danger warning for forest fire danger in Møre og Romsdal and Nordfjord. Local forest fire danger is reported in snow-free areas until significant precipitation arrives, with large areas potentially affected. The warning advises against using open fire.

In separate police operations, emergency police conducted laser speed control in a 60 km/h zone on Skorgevikvegen in Vestnes, resulting in fines for eight drivers. The highest speed measured was 73 kilometers per hour. Additionally, emergency police conducted a sobriety check at Nordmørsvegen in Gjemnes, checking 44 drivers.

One driver is suspected of drunk driving and was taken to the emergency room in Kristiansund for blood sample collection.
