A man is suspected of fraud and using counterfeit money in Jönköping. Police were contacted overnight about a person receiving what appeared to be fake banknotes during a car deal in the city. The seller discovered the notes felt and looked fake when trying to deposit the cash into a bank account after the transaction.
The suspect is a man in his 40s. Police urge caution when handling cash and advise checking banknotes for paper quality, printing, watermarks, security threads, and color or texture deviations to prevent being deceived.
