A man fell through the ice on Lake Lindesjön in the northern parts of Söderhamn municipality. The alarm came from the man himself at around 13:30. Normally, it takes about 30 minutes for rescue services to reach the location via minor forest roads.
However, a sea rescue helicopter was nearby, heading from Umeå to Norrtälje and only three minutes' flight from the accident site. The helicopter quickly rescued the man and flew him to a parking lot at Trönö church, where an ambulance was waiting to take him to the hospital. The man's condition is unclear.
