Man gets eight years for abusing daughters from infancy
Key Points
  • Man sentenced to eight years of preventive detention for abusing his daughters from infancy
  • Abuse included filming and sharing images; defendant partially admitted but denied abuse
  • Minimum term set at five years and four months

The abuse, which included filming and sharing images with others, lasted from the daughters' infancy until last summer when the man was arrested, according to the indictment. The children are still of preschool age, NRK Vestfold og Telemark reported.

The defendant pleaded guilty to taking nude photos of his daughters and sharing them with strangers online, but denied committing abuse, claiming his online dialogues were boasting or fantasies to get attention, NRK said. He admitted to being a pedophile and said he wanted help.

The court imposed a minimum term of five years and four months before parole eligibility. "The defendant is convicted of very gross abuse against his own daughters. The betrayal of the children, but also of their mother, approaches the indescribable," the court stated.
