A man in Kungsbacka municipality has been convicted of drunk driving but not aggravated drunk driving after driving a golf cart with over three times the legal alcohol limit in his blood. Varberg District Court ruled that the vehicle is considered a moped car, not a regular car, and that his driving did not significantly affect traffic safety for others. The man was stopped by police in the golf cart in September 2025, charged with aggravated drunk driving, and admitted to the offense.
The penalty is 120 day fines of 530 kronor each.
