A man has been convicted for multiple crimes during his employment at the Luftvärnsregementet Lv6 air defense regiment in Halmstad, Sweden. The Halmstad District Court sentenced the 45-year-old man for sexual harassment. He received a conditional sentence and must pay damages totaling 40,000 kronor to two women.
During a work trip in 2024, he exposed himself to one of the women in a hotel room. After the trip, he sent nude photos of himself to the woman via Snapchat. In connection with car rides during duty, he groped her breasts, thighs, and buttocks.
He also harassed her with derogatory comments and questioned her suitability for soldier training due to her height. The man also slapped another female colleague on the buttocks, which the court deemed minor assault. The man has admitted to the crimes, though his memories of some events differ from the plaintiffs' accounts.
The Swedish Armed Forces' personnel responsibility board closed the case because the man resigned from his employment after an agreement. In 2017, the board decided the man should receive a salary deduction for making sexual advances toward recruits.
