According to prosecutor Tobias Kajbring, the two did not know each other previously but made contact via a dating website. They decided to meet after contact via the internet, and the man went to visit the woman in her home in early February. During the visit, the man allegedly hit the woman, put her in a chokehold, and then raped her.
The prosecutor argues that the man improperly exploited that the woman – due to her disability and severe fear – was in a particularly vulnerable situation. The specific nature of the woman's disability has not been disclosed. The man was arrested shortly after the suspected assault following an alarm from people near the woman's residence.
The man denies the accusations. The prosecutor has requested that the man undergo a paragraph 7 investigation; a minor forensic psychiatric examination. "It is not common.
But I have requested it to show whether a major forensic psychiatric examination might be needed," says Tobias Kajbring. The exact charges filed against the man have not been specified. The trial is held next week.
